Billy Had to Move

Child Protection Services have been involved with Billy and his mother for sometime now. He has been happily settled in a kinship placement with his grandmother and enjoys his pet cat, interacting with neighbors and even his piano lessons. As the story unfolds, Billy’s grandmother has unexpectedly passed away and so the story of Billy Had To Move begins. Unfortunately, Billy’s mother cannot belocated, so Mr. Murphy, Billy’s social worker, places him in the foster home of Amy, Tim and their baby “Colly.” Billy experiences great loss resulting not only from his grandmother’s death, but he also experiences the loss of the life he knew. Billy’s inner journey therefore has also begun and with the help of his Play Therapist Ms. Woods, he has hope.

Who is Alex Walton?

Alex was born in Jamaica. He moved with his family to England and later immigrated to Canada before he was five. He gravitated towards art naturally as both of his parents were college art instructors. Alex learned to appreciate the arts at an early age and was influenced by Aubrey Beardsley, Gerald Scarfe and Gustav Klimt. He soon began creating his own style and then realized that he wanted an art career of his own.

Alex studied both fine and commercial art at college level as well as graduating with a Bachelor of Natural Resource Sciences. He often brings his appreciation of nature into his paintings. He has illustrated a number of children's books and considered himself very fortunate to work with Theresa Fraser on this project.
